D3D errors are historically video errors, and could be software or hardware. 1) A corrupt DirectX install might be part of it. So make sure it is installed properly as the usual install of Scarface occasionally fails to do so: Manually install DirectX 9.0c from the root of the DVD; To do so, please browse the contents of the DVD and go into the Directx9c folder. From there double-click on DXSETUP and install DirectX9.0c. Try the game after DX9.0c installation completed from the Scarface DVD. 2) It could however also be hardware, as in, not having the video requirements of hardware Transform & Lighting of your video card. Minimum requirement for video cards are: DirectX(R) 9.0c-compatible video card (ATI(R) Radeon(R) 9200 or NVIDIA(R) GeForce(R) FX 5500 with 128 MB RAM) or higher Reommended are: DirectX(R) 9.0c-compatible video card (ATI(R) Radeon(R) x800 or NVIDIA(R) GeForce(R) FX 6800) or higher. Check on the website of the manufacturer whether the card also supports T&L. If it doesn't, a new video card is required. Intel cards and laptops tend not to fulfill this requirement but better check anyway. ATI and Nvidia cards usually do. 3) Update video drivers 4) if you have an ATI card, download the ATI catalyst program at www.ati.com If the problem persists, post in THIS board, or try the tech support from the VU Games site. www.sierra.com/en/home/support.html
